Number of Visiting Yachts to Seychelles - 2021/22 Season Sees Significant Surge

According to multiple sources, Seychelles saw a 71.6 percent increase in the arrival of yachts in 2021 compared to 2020, when the island nation was greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. "In 2021, 91 yachts, including super-yachts, visited Seychelles while only 53 came in 2020," confirmed Seychelles Port Authority's director for business development, Vincent Didon. "For the first six months of 2022, this figure stands at 59 yachts and we expect around 80 yachts this year," he added enthusiastically. Of the expected numbers, "an average of 20 yachts each year are superyachts, each with a unique set of requirements, plans and itineraries," explains Asia Pacific Superyacht's Seychelles General Manager, Peter Alvis, who works closely with visiting super-yacht captains & crew.
